Job Overview:
You will help create and test software within a skilled team and be looking to develop your career whilst working in a collaborative environment. The role will involve researching, designing, building, and managing computer and application software, whilst applying scientific and technological principles to user needs, write code, and ensure software functionality.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Maintain and support existing systems across all areas of the business, to optimise business continuity and improve performance.
- Assist in creating new systems and software applications from design to deployment, helping to drive innovation whilst offering new ideas and providing solutions.
- Attend regular code review sessions and support with the writing and repair of computer code for optimum performance.
- Produce detailed and relevant technical documentation to record development processes.
- Perform trials, testing and quality checks to support successful delivery or implementation.
- Use structured methodologies (SDLC) to analyse, design and code software ensuring the business is provided with the required levels of support.
- Attend to assigned tickets in a timely and effective manner to resolve issues, minimise disruption and maintain SLA’s.
- Support with new and existing projects to secure successful project delivery.
Who we’re looking for:
First and foremost, you will have a passion for software development; this will go hand in hand with a solid academic or vocational background and an aptitude for solving problems analytically and creatively. Ideally, you will have some commercial experience under your belt and already started your software journey. It would be an advantage to know coding languages (Python, Node-JS) and you will need problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and the ability to understand the software development process.
