Rewind to 12th December 2012. Out of a freezing cold office (because we couldn’t afford heating back then!), our founders huddled round a couple of laptops. This was the moment. After a year of working round the clock and a lifetime of tempering the thirst to create a world class brand, we pressed LAUNCH. That was the moment Protein Works.™ website went live to the world.
It’s not an overly fancy story, we know. There’re no garages worked out of, no office in the Bay Area to talk up. But fancy isn’t in our DNA, innovation is. With the idea to rock the very foundations of a sports nutrition industry that had become stagnant, we set out to create a health and fitness brand that put pure quality & wow service before the lowest possible price. We knew we’d be the underdogs from the very beginning. But you know what? We love that.
Fast forward around 10 years and the journey from humble Cheshire beginnings, to over 3 million orders shipped globally may be in the bag, but our future is just beginning.

Junior Social Media Exec
Role Details:
Reporting into our Social & Communications Manager and as part of the Brand team at Protein Works, you will be responsible for sourcing, posting, optimising, and amplifying content across all our digital channels with a view to driving acquisition, engagement, and retention. You will be passionate about all things digital, obsess over every detail, and create as well as manage bold and impactful creative that delivers against brand and performance goals.
Working closely with stakeholders and team members, you will deal with multimedia content that is topical, user centred, and continually optimised for a variety of channels including Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, and TikTok.
You will be able to work with multidisciplinary & agile teams including our SEO, product marketing, and content teams with a view to leveraging opportunities for enhanced customer experience that positively impacts loyalty and retention rates in the UK, EU, and beyond.
This role requires a hands-on approach, a passion for digital content creation and design, innovation and creativity, and a real ability to think outside the box when it comes to user experience and world class, unbeatable, unique, and digitally optimised multimedia content for social organic and paid media consumption.
Key Responsibilities Include
1. Daily reporting & sourcing of new user-generated content
2. Sourcing content & liaising with third party content creators and influencers
3. Executing campaigns on social organic and paid media channels with a view to increasing Protein Works’ brand footprint through engaging multimedia content.
4. Scheduling and posting brand content.
5. Managing marketing product sends to content creators, media partners, journalists, and more.
6. Managing and updating internal content libraries
7. Planning & posting content across Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Tiktok, Reddit and more.
8. Supporting the brand team on all activities related to the amplification of content across channels.
9. Distributing influencer and content creator briefs and liaising with all parties for the creation and usage of new original content
10. Building emails with a focus on retention and ensuring all trading needs are met in a timely manner.
11. Working with the Brand team to ensure engagement & wider marketing objectives are met, analysing content reach and the success of content-based brand campaigns.
12. Driving our search visibility through strategic product launches, brand events, and marketing campaigns as leverage, igniting the storytelling of the brand through rich media including photography and video.
13. Helping to drive and deepen connections with our fans, customers, and influencer community at all levels.
14. Be a central and compelling advocate of the Protein Works brand, our customers, and customers’ experience both on and off site.
15. Be conscious, accountable for, and supportive of the rest of the business in driving targeted YoY Growth and Revenue in all regions.
What you need to excel in this role?
· Expert knowledge and experience creating engaging social media content on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Youtube.
· Passion for original content and generating new and innovative ideas.
· Exceptional communication skills.
· Creative flair and an eye for detail great content including images and video.
· Experience using social content management tools.
