Insurance Day, part of Lloyd's List Intelligence, is a leading provider of information, analysis and knowledge for business decision makers in the international re/insurance community. Our subject matter is varied, ranging from corporate developments, regulation, investment issues, catastrophes and technology, as well as insurance business lines, such as aviation, energy and marine.


Insurance Day has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Reporter working in the editorial and content team of 3 which is growing.


This is a full-time permanent role and will report to the Deputy Editor, Insurance Day. This role is balanced working model between home and our modern and centrally located UK office on London’s Southbank, with an excellent and a wide variety of services and transport links situated nearby.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Researching and writing insightful news and analysis for the digital platform
  • Writing in-depth features and interviews with KOP (key opinion leaders) and industry experts
  • Generating story leads and building industry contacts
  • Travelling to international industry events
  • Contributing to the development of our social media presence and multimedia platform
  • Appearing in video content and podcasts

What we are looking for:

Essential

  • A degree with a qualification in Journalism, English, Creative Writing or similar
  • Proven work experience or internship writing B2B news
  • Proficiency in MS office suite including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English
  • Self-starter, with ability to learn quickly on the job and understand the wider issues of the industry
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise on a daily basis
  • Team player who works collaboratively and brings positive energy to motivate cross-functional teams across the organisation.

Desirable

  • Strong editorial skills, able to write clean copy to tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in content management systems such as Sitecore or similar
  • Previous experience interviewing KOLs
  • Previous experience in video content
  • Proven experience in podcasting or blogging
  • Experience in reporting for the insurance or financial services sector is desirable
