Role Summary
Do you have paralegal experience or a degree in a legal discipline and want to develop a career within a rapidly growing industry?
We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic paralegal to join our global organization and support our in-house legal team. The successful candidate will gain exposure to legal and commercial contracts whilst working closely with the Head of Legal and wider business. In-house legal work is often broad and varied and this role will provide extensive development and learning opportunities. You will have interesting work drafting innovative contracts geared toward achieving net zero goals and you will be part of a welcoming and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the start of their career to build key skills within a professional setting.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting, amending, negotiating and proof reading commercial contract documents.
Researching broad legal matters which may affect the wider business, including global carbon emissions reduction legislation.
Providing technical support and resource on company secretarial matters.
Maintaining the legal document SharePoint library of standard contract templates to support with the efficiency and organisation of the legal department and their resources.
Undertaking compliance checks.
Assisting the Head of Legal in notifying the business team of any key regulatory updates.
General administrative tasks as directed by the Head of Legal, and the wider team.
Qualifications and Experience
Educated to degree level or significant experience in legal setting.
LPC Graduate - desirable.
Paralegal with commercial contracts experience - desirable but not essential.
Highly engaging and a great communicator.
A team player and able to work to deadlines.
Have a passion for commercial law and a willingness to learn more.
Excellent literacy, attention to detail and work ethos.
IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Desirable Requirements - Document review experience within a law-firm, in-house or in an alternative legal service provider environment.
