The Role
Have you just graduated from university and are looking to put your Surveying, Geography, Geology or similar skills to good use? Then we would love to hear from you!
Reporting into our Planning and Design Manager, you will work within our Network Design who are primarily responsible for the development of network design and mapping of our extensive fibre network.
As a Junior within our Planning & Design Team, you'll benefit from working alongside experienced team members, learning and developing on the job becoming an expert within your field.
Main responsibilities of the role will include:
- Keeping our network site database updated with all relevant information.
- Creating network maps using a combination of GIS mapping software (Vetro), Google Earth and QGIS.
- Aid the Construction Team in organising and accurately documenting planned fibre construction and help with the planning and mapping of future fibre community schemes.
- Create and update Fibre Splicing matrixes.
- Generating network expansion quotes.
- Provide the interface of information into PIA submissions, permitting and wayleave submissions.
- Produce accurate As-build documentation.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- University degree or equivalent in Surveying, Geography, Geology or similar.
- Detailed knowledge of XGSPON and point to point fibre network architecture.
- Experience of using CAD or GIS software
- Any experience of Telecoms FTTP Design (Fibre to the Premise).

Our offices are based in rural Dorset which does not receive regular public transport services. Please ensure your travel plans to and from the office to support this role if you are a successful candidate, you may at times be required to visit Site and will require own travel arrangements for this.
Salary: £22,000 – £24,000 (depending on experience)
Role Type: Full Time/Permanent
