Join our vibrant Meadows Learning Center Junior Instructor Team, celebrated as the Best in the West, and play a pivotal role in creating the ultimate on-snow experience for our budding snow sports enthusiasts. As a Junior Instructor in our ski and snowboard school, you'll have the exciting opportunity to assist our experienced instructors in teaching skiing and snowboarding to youth groups. Your guidance and support will contribute to the joy and growth of our young students, ranging from 4 to 12 years old. You'll help organize students into groups, ensure they are ready for their lessons, and provide a helping hand as they navigate surface lifts and chair lifts. Our season typically starts Thanksgiving weekend and runs through April with night operations starting in mid-December through the first weekend in March. Junior Instructor Checklist: Mt. Hood Meadows and Cooper Spur or to take elsewhere on their personal career paths. 14 years of age or older Strong communications and guest service skills Minimum skills required: ability to link controlled turns on blue groomed terrain Ability to work outside in all winter weather conditions for extended periods of time Ability to complete Professional Ski Instructors of America / American Association of Snowboard Instructors FREE E-Learning Courses prior to on-snow training – details will be provided Ability to commit to junior instructor training days in mid-November and early December – 4 training days in total on a variety of dates Ability to commit to working a minimum of 18 shifts during the season; season is from late December through April 30 Must be comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business Employment in this position is subject to a satisfactory background check for 18 years of age or older Other Considerations: Average teaching wages meet or exceed NSAA national data and are based on PSIA-AASI Certifications and Accreditations PSIA-AASI Level I training provided by in-house trainers PSIA-AASI Level II/III Certification training provided by PSIA-NW DCLs and Examiners who are also staff trainers at Mt.
