About the opportunity:
To meet our growing UK business needs and future development aspirations we currently have an opportunity for a Junior Hydrogeologist within our hydrogeological team in the UK. You will be joining an experienced team specialising in hydrogeology, but we positively encourage and provide opportunities for the development of complementary technical and project delivery skills. We can be flexible regarding the location of the role.
Responsibilities will include:
You will be providing hydrogeological input to support our activities across a range of sectors, including flood risk management, environmental impact assessment, engineering hydrogeology, contaminant hydrogeology, wetland assessments and water resources. In addition you will be:
- Supporting company-wide expertise in hydrogeological analysis for environmental and civil engineering problems.
- Delivering hydrogeological desk studies and risk assessments ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery within budget.
- Preparing method statements and specifications.
- Supporting in liaison with contractors, laboratories and regulators
- Field based work including monitoring and contractor supervision.
- Data collection, collation and analysis and writing technical reports.
- A minimum of a good honours degree in earth sciences and a master’s degree or doctorate in hydrogeology.
- Enthusiastic about solving problems.
- Prepared to innovate, finding new and improved ways to contribute to project excellence.
- The ability to analyse information and to present this logically and accurately in reports or verbal presentations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to use groundwater modelling packages such as MODFLOW, FEFLOW, GEOSTUDIO SEEP/W, AQUIFER Win32 and an understanding of water chemistry and pumping test analysis.
