JUNIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Overview
Our Creative Department has an exciting and rare opportunity for a full-time Junior Graphic Designer to join them. This role will support the Graphic Designer and Senior Digital Designer in designing all print and digital assets that form the day-to-day tasks of the creative department, with a heavy focus on print and typography. In addition, there will be a responsibility to ensure our brand handwriting is conveyed through every design asset.

This will be an ideal role for someone who is interested in growing their graphic design career in a retail ecomms environment and has the relevant experience or qualifications. Your attention to detail will be meticulous and you will have the ability to create beautiful layouts and design work to tight deadlines. You will have the natural ability to calmly manage multiple and sometimes changing priorities and have a positive, proactive and collaborative working style. You will be brand aware, able to take direction and consistently apply your initiative to your job. If you have a keen interest that is equally split between print and digital design this will be the perfect role for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Graphic Designer with the design and creation of seasonal printed brochures for retail and trade, press lookbooks and seasonal bouncebacks to set brief and instructions, and creating digital versions.
- Supporting the Graphic Designer with the design and creation of digital sell sheets and cutout directories for Trade.
- Designing printed thank you cards, magazine inserts, shop posters, window vinyls and associated shop POS.
- Liaising with relevant stakeholders for clear feedback, and a collaborative approach to executing amends proactively and in a timely manner.
- Supporting the Senior Digital Designer with animations and video assets as well as the creation of promotional campaigns for web, email, social, paid social and pMax ads.
- Designing digital assets for competitions, magazine and national press ads.
- Creating suitable crops of seasonal banners.
- Designing in-house collateral - business cards, letterheads, brand bibles and guidelines.
- Liaising with and forging good working relationships with key stakeholders - Marketing, Merchandising and Trade departments, in creation of all design work.
- Maintaining the company branding and handwriting throughout.
- Briefing the Senior Image Retoucher on image retouching and edits.
- Finalising print ready artwork and uploading to printers.
- Proof checking of design work pre-press.
- Liaising with printers in obtaining print quotes and orders.
- Attending press passes for brochures with the Graphic Designer.
- Ensure production deadlines are met.
- Housekeeping of finished files on the server.
Experience, Requirements & Attributes
- A degree and/or equivalent in-house or agency experience in a similar design role with a minimum 2+ years’ experience.
- Experienced in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
- A strong portfolio demonstrating all aspects of print and digital design across various customer touch points, ranging from brochures, lookbooks, adverts, packaging through to digital assets and web banners.
- Strong typography skills.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Results orientated and resilient in nature.
- Passion for home interiors and lifestyle is an advantage.
- UK driving licence and own transport is essential for this role.
- The successful candidate must have Right to Work in the UK.
