Polestar is an independent financial advisor to private businesses and their owners who are looking to raise cash, make acquisitions or sell all/part of their business.
We are looking to take on a budding Junior Graphic Designer to help our current in-house designer tackle various upcoming projects.
The Role:
The candidate will work closely with our design and marketing function to produce a wide array of client-facing business documentation and marketing collateral. Much of this material is used to either sell a client’s business to prospective buyers or sell us to prospective clients – so a keen eye for detail and visual flair is essential.
The role will see the successful candidate gain skills across a wide variety of document production and business practices, working for exciting clients as part of our dynamic and open team.
Our office sits conveniently in the centre of Guildford, just a short walk from the high street. Whilst the role will be primarily office-based, work from home arrangements can be flexible.
Responsibilities:
- Designing business documentation: business sale documentation, presentations, infographics, etc.
- Designing marketing collateral: thumbnails, email images, email designs, etc.
- Proof reading documents for writing/formatting errors
- Writing monthly blogs to support the company’s content marketing effort
- Developing the Polestar brand
Traits and skills necessary for the role:
- Initiative and energy – someone who proactively seeks their own solutions to problems and suggests new ways of doing things
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, in particular InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Familiarity with WordPress and website management would be great, but not necessary
- Good communication skills to work effectively within a team
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work efficiently
- Eye for detail and methodical approach to self-review
- Good writing and proof-reading skills
- Experience using AI software such as Midjourney and GPT-4
- A willingness and drive to learn new skills
- Camera operating/video and photo editing (this would be nice to have but certainly not essential)
Hours:
The role is permanent and would see the successful candidate working 37.5hrs a week, 9-5:30pm Monday-Friday, with a 1-hour lunch break each day.
Although we have a full-time position’s worth of work to fill, in some circumstances – where the candidate is still completing relevant study, for instance - a job share could be arranged, whereby two applicants fill the role and supplement each other’s work. Pay, in this instance, would be dependent on the contract agreed and would follow the FTE of a 37.5hr workweek.
