Our brand new factory unit and Fibre laser with full stock automation more than doubles our production capacity and throughput. This period of expansion is a very exciting time for the company and we are looking to speak to applicants interested in joining us our Research & Development team as a JUNIOR (GRADUATE) ELECTRONICS ENGINEER.
This position will involve working with Physicists and Engineers on the design, development, documentation and practical build of original equipment, as well as the practical build of repeating products to meet customer expectation within tight timescales. The equipment build will possess electrical and electronic content together with supporting mechanical content.
The team is responsible for the experimental setup realisation and measurement of magnetic fields across a range of frequencies from DC (0 Hz) to VLF (3-30 kHz), for both research and technical support purposes. The position will also involve the construction and operation of compensation coil systems for nullifying magnetic fields and systems for the degaussing of large enclosures. The candidate will be required to perform test set ups plus the operations both in-house and externally, whilst documenting procedures and results. This is an exciting role within a progressive department, with plenty of potential for training and development.
Essential skills:
- A degree in electronic engineering
- Some practical experience with electronic measurement and signal generation equipment
- Understanding of basic fault finding and demonstration of logical method
- Basic programming skills for equipment automation
- Electronic component recognition and understanding operation
- Technical documentation skills with keen eye for detail
- Strong analytical, alongside good computer skills & data presentation
- Reliable, motivated with ability to demonstrate logical and reasoned approach to problem solving
- Good communication skills
Desirable Skills
- Soldering, crimping and calibration experience
- Understanding of the generation and testing of DC & AC magnetic fields
- Experience of computer aided design techniques
