Papier’s collection of stationery products, from notebooks & diaries to notecards and wedding invitations, is designed to feed curiosity and contemplation, to invite people to uncover the possibility of a blank page.
What's the job?
Papier is looking for a passionate creative to join our in-house creative team. Under the direction of the Creative Lead, the Junior Digital Designer will support the business in elevating the visual voice of our brand through digital design.
You should have a passion for design, a love of stationery, and a portfolio that demonstrates strong creative thinking and technical know-how. As well as being a talented designer we’re looking for someone who is willing to learn and grow within our growing creative team.
Please note this role does not include any design work of the stationery or products.
Day to day, you will be:
- Showcasing your digital design & animation skills, designing a range of marketing assets across paid & organic social, email and web
- Supporting the Creative Lead and Digital Designer across all stages of projects, from conception to final artworking
- Delivering quality design work in a fast-paced environment and taking an active role in ensuring deadlines are met
- Designing assets in Figma and exploring styles of graphic animation in After Effects
- Retouching and comping imagery in Photoshop
- Bringing a pixel-perfect approach to saving out imagery and assets for use across different platforms
- Showing an awareness of emerging design and social trends
- Collaborating with other team members and departments to assist in the voice of the brand being effectively communicated
- Participating in creative ideation sessions with the team and presenting ideas
Requirements
You will succeed in this role if you have:
- Previous Graphic Design experience within a professional environment
- A portfolio showcasing digital designs for brands either in-house or agency
- Digital design experience, particularly within social & animation/motion graphics
- Detail oriented with strong typography & layout skills
- Confident using the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and After Effects
- Basic knowledge of Figma and web design would be ideal
- Ability to follow and implement brand guidelines
- Able to thrive working in a fast-paced environment, working across multiple projects simultaneously
- Flexible and able to react quickly to changing demands of the business
- Self-motivated and happy to work as part of a team as well as individually
- A willingness to learn and share knowledge & ideas
