Job description
Company
Inngot Limited
We are on a mission to enable organisations to get much, much more out of their Intellectual Property (IP) and intangible assets.
Underpinned by our world-class research activity, thought leadership and professional services provided to the world’s governments and leading financial institutions, Inngot’s digital tools are enabling organisational stakeholders to understand the value of intellectual property (IP) and leverage that value in the form of collateral, licensing and sales. With a head office in Swansea and other staff based in north, mid and south-east England, the business operates across the UK and has clients and customers throughout the world.
With significant and growing interest in the cost-effectiveness and reliability of our online IP valuation tools, this is an extremely exciting time for us and we are now looking to recruit a new team member to help us improve our software engineering and online platform capability.
Role
We require a junior DevOps Engineer to help improve and extend our product offering of cost-effective online IP identification, rating, management and valuation tools.
This is a true DevOps role, working on improvements to how we deploy and support services in an AWS cloud environment, as well as on enhancements to our suite of online tools. The ideal candidate will either have experience of both software development and systems administration or a strong motivation and demonstrated ability to learn new skills rapidly. You will be working as part of a small agile team but must be happy to also work independently.
This position will typically require the successful candidate to be able to attend our Swansea head office for 1 or 2 days each week; although this may be more frequent either initially, dependent on the extent of training required for the role, or if required for specific project reasons. There will be a requirement for occasional out of hours support on an ad hoc basis.
Professional Skills & Personal Qualities
The successful candidate will, ideally, be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, such as Software Engineering, and be within commutable distance of our Swansea head office. We would also be happy to hear from people with the right skillset and relevant experience, who may be graduating from under-graduate or post-graduate courses this summer and who may wish to work with us on a part-time basis, switching to full-time following completion of studies.
Good written and verbal communication skills are important, as are excellent skills in the use of general ICT and office suite software.
This position and work environment would suit a self-motivated, friendly and adaptable ‘team player’, who has a professional, courteous attitude and a desire to develop and grow with the company.
The ideal candidate will have experience of at least some of the following
o Linux, shell scripting, AWS, docker, ELK stack, SQL/NOSQL databases, git, Jenkins
o Java, javascript, node, REST apis, TDD, python
Please note that we do not work with recruitment agencies and will only accept direct applications. We are also unable to accept applications from candidates who are not based in the UK, or who are looking for visa sponsorship (applicants must be UK citizens, or have permanent right to work in the UK).
