What’s the Job?
Due to continued company growth, we are excited to say we are now recruiting for a Junior Sportswear /Lifestyle Fashion Designer to join our Teamwear/Retail Design division. This role will be working on multi product apparel and graphics for teams/sports within our portfolio and joining a very hands-on, self-motivated design team. This is a great opportunity for a design graduate/assistant to join a leading British sports brand to grow and further their career.
What will I do?
- Assisting the design team and Design manager with trend research, creative direction, colour palettes and team research.
- Supporting the creating and developing of artworks and trims for clubs.
- Creating external and internal range catalogues, liaising with multiple departments as well as clubs.
- Work with the team to help create design packs for the PD team and factories.
- Work with the product development team to ensure design pack updates are amended efficiently and correctly.
- Assist in design meetings with Design managers to ensure design sign off before shown to senior management for range sign off.
- Support in merchandising the boardroom for key customer meetings, working with PD to ensure the best samples/products are being showcased.
- Time management to ensure all ranges and key dates are hit that are within the critical paths.
What skills and qualities will I need?
- Have an approachable attitude to ensure a good working relationship with the team and work side by side with other design and department managers.
- Attention to detail to ensure all product details are correct and that all aspects from a brand, partner and regulations side of things are considered and covered off.
- A background in Teamwear Design would be beneficial
- An understanding and appreciation of the global outdoor market and industry [or associated market area]
- Team orientated, good negotiator and inspiring communicator, cooperative and inquisitive
- Competent in MS Office programmes
- Understanding of fit requirements and garment construction
- Knowledge of performance fabrics and technologies
- Good presentation skills is a must for both internal and external presentations of ranges and products.
