Junior Designer - Menswear
We are now recruiting for a multi - product Junior Designer to join the Gym King creative team in Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a growing area of our business.
Job Summary:
To support the Gym King design department across men’s product areas, through range building and sample development, reporting to the Head of Design. Build collections that are innovative and reflective of our customer.
- A multi-product clothing designer with a strong creative, trend led eye
- Be commercially aware and have strong knowledge of market trends within the menswear sector that will strengthen our product offering.
- Contribute to new development direction by bringing newness and ideas set around the company’s vision.
- To manage the execution of designs from tech pack through into sales samples.
- Work closely with Head of Design and design team to support across the department.
- Work with internal garment tech and buying departments to help build and develop the collections and where required respond quickly with product requests and updates.
- Ensure all timelines are met including tech packs and sample deadlines
- Tech packs are completed to a high standard and can be accurately translated by the factories.
- Monitor sample tracker development to ensure all design components are accurately documented ahead of any product reviews and orders.
- Build and maintain close links with our offshore and UK supply base with daily communication.
- Attend fit and proto meetings. Ensure CAD’s and tech packs are updated where required.
- Ensure all information is accurately recorded and any key information is provided to internal teams.

Experience / Credentials
- 3 years minimum experience in a design and development role
- Branded apparel experience desired
- Experience working with a sportswear apparel/activewear preferably menswear
- Fashion athleisure design experience desired.
- Extensive knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Excel, Power Point
- Relevant degree in apparel or sportwear
- Liaison with suppliers experience
- Strong knowledge of garment construction and fabrics

Working hours: Due to the nature of this role, the hours will be full time (37.5 hours per week).
Location: This role is based at Unit 6 Temple Point, Bullerthorpe Lane, Colton, Leeds LS15 9JL. 2 minutes off the M1 J46.
