About The Role

As we continue to grow our portfolio of homes, we have a great opportunity for a Junior Data Engineer. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Junior Data Engineer to join our healthcare company's Technology team. As a Junior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate management of data across our 100 care homes. Your primary responsibilities will involve working with Microsoft products, including MySQL, Power BI, and the MS Azure platform. You will collaborate closely with the Technology and Healthcare teams to build and maintain robust data pipelines, optimize data flows, and assist in data analysis and reporting processes. The role will be Hybrid with 1-2 days negotiable, at our office based at Group Support Centre, Northampton which offers a friendly and inclusive office environment where people feel valued.
Your ability to work in a team with excellent communication skills and an approachable manner will allow you to build up strong professional relationships with colleagues across the company. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Technology, Operations, Finance and Project teams to develop and maintain data pipelines, ensuring smooth and efficient data flow from multiple sources to various systems.
  • Design, develop, and implement data integration solutions using Microsoft products such as MySQL, Power BI, and the MS Azure platform.
  • Assist in building and maintaining data warehouses, data marts, and other data storage systems.
  • Perform data profiling, cleansing, and transformation to ensure data quality and accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot data-related issues and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve problems.
  • Participate in the design and development of data models and schemas to support data analytics and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and assist in generating actionable insights.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and standard operating procedures.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering, healthcare, and Microsoft products to contribute to ongoing improvement efforts.
  • Adhere to data governance and security policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.

About You


Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of data engineering concepts and principles.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft products, including MySQL, Power BI, and the MS Azure platform.
  • Experience with data integration, ETL processes, and data pipeline development.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional data modeling.
  • Understanding of GDPR and related regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
