Job Description:

Our manufacturing team are looking to fill a Junior Data Analyst vacancy. This role is based in Balliol Business Park, working 8:30am-4:30pm, Mon-Fri.

The purpose of this role is to support key stakeholders across the manufacturing division through the management and provision of timely and accurate data. The role will involve working with existing MRP and performance management systems whilst supporting the division in developing and implementing a new automated manufacturing data capture system. Developing a best practice approach in the collection, maintenance, and delivery of information to assist in the prioritisation and co-ordination of Continuous Improvement projects.

The key duties and responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Cleaning and organising raw data, monitoring its quality and removing corrupt data
  • Performing statistical analysis and preliminary investigation of data
  • Using tools and techniques to visualise data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams, graphs etc. and presenting these reports to stakeholders
  • Help stakeholders understand data content and subsequent business requirements
  • Maintaining existing workflows and ensuring data outputs remain complete
  • Continuing improvement to develop future reporting capabilities
  • Management of product, BOM and efficiencies information
  • Create new SKUs on the system following receipt of new lines from the business and associated BOM's where relevant
  • Create and update user guides/templates where required
  • Carry out continual assessment of data accuracy and integrity
  • Research external sources where possible, to obtain data required for projects
  • Using those sources, extract reports and collate relevant business data
  • Work as part of a team, where appropriate, on a specific projects or in day-to-day continuous improvement activities
  • Other administrative requirements from time to time

The key skills for this role are:

  • Must be highly skilled with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in other MS Office (Excel, Access, Word etc.)
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong knowledge of data manipulation, analysis and reporting skills
  • Good understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.)
  • Accurate and analytical
  • Proactive and problem-solving mindset
  • Comfortable working with big data sets
  • Familiarity with modern database and information technology systems
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Ability to collaborate and multi-task
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and delegate, when necessary, drive project completion
