What’s the role all about:

Role Description (What is the role & where does it reside?)

We are looking for a Junior Data Analyst who will be part of the full development life cycle of a data warehouse and the integration of MS BI tools to enable more effective strategic, tactical, and operational insights. You will be part of a small team who is responsible for designing databases and reports in Power BI and ensuring their stability, reliability and performance.

As a member of a small team, this will involve working with stakeholders to identify requirements, proposing and implementing creative yet pragmatic solutions, hands-on development to integrate data sources, validating report accuracy and participating in the ongoing maintenance of the system. Working closely with Information Management and IT teams, you will be a key component in driving improvement throughout the organisation.

Role Responsibilities (How do we see the role being delivered?)

As part of delivering this role, you will typically be:

  • Supporting data architecture development, capture and build
  • Acquiring data from primary and secondary data sources.
  • Structuring and interpreting data for delivery to Stakeholders.
  • Working with different teams and Users to gather requirements and provide status updates and build relationships.
  • Undertaking data modelling to meet current and anticipated future requirements
  • Performing statistical analysis of data
  • Monitoring data quality and removing corrupt data
  • Prepping reports and presenting these to management or clients

Guiding information owners, stewards and custodians in cleansing and improving underlying data quality.

Key Experience: (Who is the ideal applicant?)

To succeed, you will ideally have:

  • Experience with variety of data sources.
  • Basic understanding or ETL process’s
  • Basic understanding of BI technologies, preferably with Power BI.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL/TSQL
  • Ideally, knowledge or experience of statistical methodologies and data analysis
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills

Great interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications & Memberships:

You should hold:

  • A relevant HND or degree (Data Science / Computer Science / Information Management / Engineering).
  • Hold Incorporated or Chartered status or equivalent with an appropriate professional institution.
  • Or have held or be eligible to apply for security clearance.
