The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Conflicts Analyst to join our Business Intake team on a permanent basis in either our London or Bristol office.

The successful candidate will provide support on conflict checking to the Firm.

What will you do:

  • Shared responsibility for providing the conflict checking service to the firm world-wide.
  • Analyse conflict checks requests from the business for legal and commercial conflicts and confidential information issues.
  • Assist in maintenance of conflicts parties database.
  • Maintain related documentation.
  • Use IT skills to search external commercial databases.
  • Ensure that conflict check matters are accurately finalised.
  • Searching commercial products to identify ownership and corporate structures.
  • Communicating concisely and accurately with the Business and with other business services functions.
  • Document and escalate conflict, AML, financial crime and reputational risks identified as part of matter opening.
  • Work with team to ensure department workload is managed.
  • Be proactive with support to the team.

What we are looking for:

Knowledge and Technical Skills:

  • Ability to develop knowledge, in legal processes and terminology, business resources.
  • Attain familiarity with client base.
  • Business research skills.
  • A basic understanding of money laundering and KYC (Know your client) regulation.
  • Broad IT skills.

General Skills:

  • Willingness to learn.
  • Articulate with excellent oral and written communications.
  • Fluent oral and written English is essential, reading knowledge of another language is desirable.
  • Have a high commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
  • Have good problem solving skills.
  • Ability to organise workloads, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to identify potential risks.
  • Strong sense of team work.

Other requirements:

Flexibility with working hours as required and willingness to work extra and on occasion unsociable hours when required.
