Game If You Are is a leading full-service marketing agency, dedicated to small-to-medium-sized video games companies. Fiercely passionate about the indie game scene, we design and deliver innovative and impactful campaigns – at a price that makes sense for solo developers, small studios and micro-publishers.

We’re looking to bolster our team with a Junior Campaign Manager to oversee a roster of client accounts and their associated marketing campaigns, under the guidance and direction of a senior marketer. For each of your clients, you’ll be their main point of contact and the key champion of their campaigns within the agency - combining hands-on marketing and PR work with project and relationship management to deliver great results.

On each campaign, you’ll work under the guidance of a senior marketer and can expect to contribute across both strategy and delivery. You’ll frequently collaborate with colleagues as well as commissioning freelancers and third-party agencies to support the delivery of a best-in-class indie game marketing services.

The role would be well-suited to someone passionate about video games with around 1-2 years of commercial marketing, agency or PR experience looking to take their next career step; or someone with other relevant games or games-adjacent experience looking to move into marketing and PR.

What you’ll do

The nature of the role means that each day will look slightly different, but you can expect most days to involve a combination of some of the following:

  • Working under the guidance of senior marketers to conduct market research, position products, generate concepts and ideas, and prepare tactical plans for our clients’ campaigns
  • Coordinating project activities and planning out workload both internally and with external partners
  • Communicating with clients - in video calls or via email
  • Writing press releases and pitching to journalists and influencers
  • Creating and publishing social media and community content
  • Setting, monitoring, and driving toward key performance indicators and milestone targets
  • Commissioning, briefing and managing creative freelancers such as artists, illustrators, designers, and video producers
  • Producing client-facing documentation including proposals, project plans and campaign reports
  • Undertaking individual and group learning activities, ensuring your knowledge of marketing and the games sector remains up-to-date
  • Representing Game If You Are in the wider world - via social media or, occasionally, in person at events

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who’s bold, ambitious and curious, and who’s motivated by driving excellence and delivering great results that make a real impact on the lives of passionate indie game developers.

You’ll need a good grounding in the fundamentals of marketing and be au fait with multiple different disciplines, channels and techniques.

You need to be organised, disciplined, and comfortable multitasking across several different projects. You’ll be great at balancing and tracking your own workload and be keen to learn the fundamentals of good project management.

You’ll need to be an exceptional communicator, with the ability to convey information precisely and effectively in person, on a video call or in writing. You’ll be adept at building and nurturing relationships while balancing the client’s needs with those of our business.

You’ll ideally have previous experience working in an agency environment or similarly fast paced workplace with multiple workstreams - bonus points if that was in the world of video games. Alternatively, you’ll have good games-adjacent experience and a good understanding of the fundamentals of how they are promoted (e.g. having worked as a professional games journalist or editor).

And you’ll have a passion for video games, and an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the current indie games market across multiple platforms.
