Job Advert
Alpine F1 Team are looking for the next generation of Aerodynamicists to join us and build a career at the pinnacle of motorsport. With a dynamic and supportive team mindset and world-leading facilities in rural Oxfordshire, we provide the ideal environment where engineers can make their mark and start writing their own chapter in F1 history.
If you are high performing, tenacious and motivated, apply today and take the first step towards joining the Enstone family.
The Role
As a Junior Aerodynamicist you will be putting your understanding of aerodynamics fundamentals and your broader knowledge of computational and experimental techniques to use in helping drive our car’s performance to ever-greater levels. Working collaboratively with fellow engineers of all levels, you will use your creativity and inspiration to conceive innovative ideas and turn them into reality through rigorous testing in CFD and our in-house wind tunnel. You will learn to use your analytical skills to push our understanding of flow structures and how to use these to add performance to the car on the track.
As someone with an active and curious mind, you will never rest on your laurels but will constantly strive to enhance your own capabilities and those of the wider team by helping to improve our methodology and processes.
Working as part of a team of motivated and talented engineers as well as contributing your own creative ideas and expertise, you will grow as an engineer by learning from and being supported by those around you, making this an ideal place to begin your career as an aerodynamicist.
The Person
The starting point for this role is a solid understanding of flow physics and fundamentals, which you will have acquired by attaining a strong university degree in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline with significant aerodynamics content, in which you will have graduated by summer 2024. This will also have given you experience or a strong appreciation both of CFD and of wind tunnel technologies and techniques.
This is fundamentally a team role, so you will be an excellent communicator and be able to show us that you can work collaboratively even when under pressure. Capable of keeping an eye on the details while never losing sight of the big picture of what you are trying to achieve, you will be able to adopt a pragmatic approach when needed. You will have a curious mindset, always hungry to learn and to challenge your assumptions.
In this role you will be based at our Technical Centre in Enstone. It will require flexibility, with some shift work including occasional weekends and night shifts. Training will be given, but if you already have CAD skills in 3DX or Catia, or experience carrying out CFD testing with OpenFOAM, this will stand you in good stead.
Alpine Racing strives to be diverse and inclusive, a place where we can all be ourselves. We welcome people from all backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures, and experiences. We are committed to making a consistent, top down effort to be role models on what diversity, inclusion and belonging means in society.
