Jellycat have an exciting new opportunity for an ambitious Junior Account Manager to join our ROW Sales team!
Creating original and innovative soft toys, Jellycat combines luxurious fabrics with designs that are sometimes quirky, sometimes cute but always with a little something different that makes them stand out from the crowd! Selling our products to our network of distributors and retailers, the Sales team is responsible for retaining and growing our business and being the face of our brand. The Junior Account Manager is a pivotal role as they develop and maintain key relationships with our customers, ensure our brand is merchandised according to our guidelines and that sales are maximised in line with our strategic objectives.
The role is a combination of supporting and managing our existing Asia distributors and international retailer accounts, as well as driving growth in the markets through a strategic approach in line with the country strategy provided by the International Sales Manager and Head of International Sales.
The role will require travel to attend overseas distributor meetings and tradeshows on occasion.
Your role and responsibilities will include:
- Building strong relationships with assigned distributor territories and retailer accounts, serving as the key point of contact.
- Managing distributor and retailer accounts, looking to grow the business with a long-term view.
- Answer incoming sales calls and respond to all communication.
- Understanding and contributing to annual strategy for your agents and house accounts.
- Research and share new opportunities with the International Sales Manager.
- Maintaining high levels of communication including weekly internal meetings, plus regular virtual meetings and range reviews with customers alongside the International Sales Manager.
- Being aware of commercial requirements and providing options to the International Sales Manager so that an informed decision can be made.
- Helping to train/guide new team members as and when required.
- Liaising with credit control on payments.
- Liaising with the despatch team to ensure orders are shipped accurately and efficiently.
- Checking and maintaining customer data.
- Providing clear and regular updates to the International Sales Manager
- Attending tradeshows and following up on new opportunities post-show.
- Ability to understand the wider context of managing the accounts; liaising with different functions of the business internally.
- Ability to assimilate to the Jellycat way of working in terms of tone and communication.
- Able to begin taking ownership, work independently, whilst also being good at taking direction.
- Any other administrative tasks to help the International Sales Manager and Head of International Sales grow the business.
Required knowledge and skills:
- At least 1-2 years' experience working as a Junior Account Manager.
- Proven experience in maintaining a high level of customer service and relationship building.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High attention to detail with the ability to work accurately.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Very commercially aware.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle conflict effectively.
- Data analysis (desirable).
- Report writing (desirable).
- French language – oral and written (desirable).
