Job Title: JOU Dog Section Trainer - HC485270
Location: Sulhamstead.
Salary: Scale 6/SO1 - £28,530 - £33,348.
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours a week.
Closing Date: Sunday 2rd July 2023 at 23:59 hours.
We are looking for someone to develop and deliver knowledge & skills training to police dog handlers within the JOU.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. To plan and deliver a full range of training relative to Police dog handlers and dogs.
2. To assist with the design and delivering of new training programmes to meet identified needs within the workforce.
3. To design and produce clear, concise and well presented training support material, for use before, during and after training.
4. To offer appropriate guidance to participants, in order to facilitate their personal growth, development and understanding.
There will also be a Dog Handling Allowance if the successful candidate chooses to care for a police dog in training (£210 per month). This would also entitle the candidate to a Force vehicle to transport the dog whilst in training. If no dog is taken, the candidate be required to travel to an agreed Police establishment to collect a training vehicle before starting work.

Essential Qualifications
Educated to QCF Level 3, plus a Level 3 Learning & Development qualification or to have undertaken significant work related experience that may be deemed to have brought the post holder to a comparable level.
Essential Experience
Able to demonstrate current competence in subject matter area.
Experience in Training needs analysis, design, delivery, assessment and evaluation of training.
Experience in providing training relevant to police dog requirements i.e. tracking, searching and protection work.
An understanding of diversity in the workplace.
