Java Backend Engineer - AWS
About us

You will report in to the Chapter Lead / Engineering Manager.
What you'll do:
Produce and maintain clean Java code
Work with a diverse team of engineers
Contribute to application architecture - develop
Build & improving software and services through CI/CD pipelines
Work with DevOps engineer(s) to agree on and apply best practices
Stay on top of AWS offerings and taking advantage of new services if applicable
Maintain, upgrade, and improve services across the business
Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with development best practices
Discuss and implement security protocols within software and services
Promote cloud usage for scalable solutions
Set and lead best ways of working to archive amazing engineering collaboration.
What you'll need:
Understand about developing low-latency/distributed enterprise applications in Java
Understanding of the Spring Framework / Spring Boot
Experience with functional programming
Understanding of agile processes and incremental delivery, translating high level ideas to stories (requirements gathering)
Passionate about Software Craftsmanship and Clean Code
Passionate about Test Driven Development
Understanding of CI/CD
Understanding of DevOps, Infrastructure as Code
Understanding of different database technologies, their use cases and trade-offs e.g. SQL, NoSQL, etc.
Understanding of messaging technologies, their use cases and trade-offs
