Java Developer – Hybrid role

Must be eligible to work in UK No sponsorship provided

My client is looking to grow the Java Developer team.

This will be an exciting time to join the team as a Java Developer as they are about to undertake rewriting many of the legacy applications. There will be a lot of change and a lot of opportunities to learn new technologies.

Working in a complex technical environment as a Java Developer you need to be an excellent problem solver with a proven track record of code analysis. You will be expected to work closely with Core Development, Web Shop Development, QA and Support.

Java Developer Role

· Production problem resolution.

· Smaller application change requests (larger changes go through major projects).

· Finding and fixing security issues.

· Finding and fixing technical debt.

· Migrating current applications to be cloud native.

· Working with Core Development as a developer on major projects.

Java Developer Skills

· over five years Java development experience.

· Good Experience of the Spring framework, specifically Spring Boot.

· Strong SQL skills, preferably Oracle. Comfortable with navigating around a database, writing queries for analysis and updating records in live databases.

· Exposure to frontend frameworks such as Servlets, JSP’s and Angular.

· Previous experience of working in complicated technical environments preferably in eCommerce.

· Experience of working with applications running in a WebLogic application server.

· Experience of working with applications running in a Tomcat application server

· Demonstrates good oral and written communications skills.

· Capable of liaison with Senior IS Management and key business stakeholders.

Nice to Haves

· Experience of using Git.

· Exposure to Docker

· Service orientated architectures (using message brokers)

· Experience of using Jenkins

· Using SonarQube

· Cucumber
