Description
You will be joining a small, focused development team that develops our business-critical point- of-sale software and associated suite of services. The team prides itself on working closely together, sharing knowledge, and providing innovative solutions to meet business needs.
This is a 4-month contract to help support the current engineering activities of the team.
What are the Required Technical Skills?
- Strong knowledge of Java lang and Java Design Patterns (Essential)
- Good knowledge of Javascript, HTML and XML
- Good knowledge of MySQL
- Good knowledge of Azure Devops, such as YAML Pipelines
- Good knowledge of Maven, and Git
- Good knowledge of the Windows PowerShell libraries
- Some knowledge of Azure, such as Cosmos DB, Azure Functions and Azure Data Factory
- Some knowledge of Sentry
- Bonus: Knowledge of GWT, C#, .Net and Datadog, Azure Boards, Scrum and Agile
We welcome equivalent skills, for example, you may not be familiar with CosmosDB, but you will still be a perfect candidate if you know MongoDB or any other unstructured query language.
What will a typical day look like?
- Work on varied and interesting project work – both on existing and new applications/services.
- Deliver system improvements, small development changes, new features, and bug fixes.
- Full development lifecycle including code, testing, documentation, and maintenance.
- Delivering focused and being mindful of business needs and requirements.
- Providing clean, tested, understandable, robust and uncomplicated code.
Salary and Benefits
We’re offering a rate of £550 per day for the right person, which we assess based on your own experiences, technical skills and against the principles of our department and our ways of working.
