Cleaner
Location: Ormiston Horizon Academy, Turnhurst Road, Stoke on Trent ST6 6JZ
Salary: Grade 1 (£20,441 - pro rata) - £10.60 per hour
Hours: 14.75 hours per week (negotiable); term time plus 4 weeks - 42 weeks in total
Contract: Temporary for 12 months in the first instance
Reporting to: Principal Cleaner

We are looking to recruit a reliable, hard-working person to join our friendly and supportive cleaning team.
The successful candidate will undertake cleaning duties which may include dusting, emptying bins, picking up litter, sweeping, washing, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, polishing, toilet cleaning in areas of the establishment.
May undertake specialised cleaning programmes during the school closures or other designated periods.
Assist in the preparation of rooms and appropriate work areas e.g. meeting rooms, classrooms.
Safeguarding and Promoting the Welfare of Children and Young People
- Adhere to policies and procedures in relation to safeguarding at all times, and to adhere to the statutory guidance , Keeping Children Safe in Education.
- Take appropriate action if having any concerns, or are made aware of the concerns of others, regarding the safety or wellbeing of children or young people.
- Keeping Safeguarding knowledge up to date as directed by the academy safeguarding lead.
DBS
An enhanced disclosure and barring check will be a requirement of the post

Variation Clause
This job description will be reviewed and updated periodically in order to ensure that it relates to the job performed, or to incorporate any proposed changes. This procedure will be conducted by the Principal/Manager in consultation with the postholder. In these circumstances it will be the aim to reach agreement on reasonable changes, but if agreement is not possible management reserves the right to make changes to the job description following consultation.
Fluency in English
The post is covered by Part 7 of the immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
