A multi-award winning facility, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) has earned a solid reputation as North America’s leading Convention Centre, and has held over 18,000 events and hosted over 55 million guests since opening for business in October 1984. The Metro Toronto Convention Centre's Cleaning Services department is currently recruiting for Casual Cleaners. Reporting to the Cleaning Services Supervisor, the successful candidates will be available to work all shifts, including evenings, overnights and weekends. These are casual on-call positions.
Job Description
Casual Cleaners performs general and specific duties in assigned areas in accordance with Cleaning Services Department standards of policies and procedures.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Various cleaning duties such as vacuuming, sweeping, disinfecting and washing of various areas
- Removing recyclables and garbage/waste
- Maintaining supplies and equipment in multiple areas including washrooms
Job Qualifications
Physical requirements of the position include repetitive and heavy lifting or carrying, large volume garbage removal, standing and walking for long periods of time, public washroom cleaning, and heavy volume cleaning including vacuuming and mopping for extensive periods of time. Other requirements include ability to read, write and speak English fluently to understand verbal work orders.
Preference will be given to candidates with previous cleaning experience and who are pleasant and courteous and able to greet guests and respond to general customer queries.
