The Faculty of Human, Social and Political Science is recruiting an IT Technician to join the Faculty IT team. The IT Technician will join the Front Line Services team who are responsible for providing friendly and effective first and second line support for the Faculty's IT services. The team provides support on all aspects of computing to all members and areas of the Faculty, as well as the Department of History and Philosophy of Science in our City Centre institutions.
We are looking for someone with strong customer service skills and experience, you will need to be able to empathise with users and handle potentially difficult or stressful situations diplomatically and efficiently. An understanding of a range of modern operating systems and devices; Windows, Mac, Android & iOS is essential.
The role holder should be educated to A-Level standard or with equivalent understanding and skills.
You will need to be sufficiently physically fit to be able to move and carry IT equipment and be able to work on-site in our central sites and buildings.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment and a standard Disclosure and Barring Service check.
