We are working with a leading, global energy service company to source an IT Technician on a permanent basis. Based in the organisation’s headquarters in Dyce, this varied role will work closely with the IT Manager to provide IT Support to their North Sea and West Africa operations. Key Responsibilities:
Working with the area IT manager to provide IT support to the region’s onshore and offshore operations, this role includes:
- Providing IT support to shore-based users and rigs in the region.
- Providing training and development to users when required.
- Assisting in IT project activities.
- Collaborating with global IT Team on support requirements and project activity.
- Acting as an on-call contact on a rota basis with others in the department.
- Travelling offshore for project activities or to key side locations when applicable.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Education: Must have a minimum of HNC Computing or other industry recognised certification.
- Competence: Must be competent in working in a predominately Microsoft software environment.
- Personal Qualities: Must be organised with good communication skills and be self-motivated with a clear logical approach to problem solving. Must be an innovative thinker and a team player with a flexible attitude to meet the company needs.
- Commitment to Safety: Must demonstrate a strong commitment to HSEQ.
Skill Requirements:
- General PC / desktop and helpdesk support coupled with strong hardware skills.
- Microsoft Windows operating systems; Microsoft Windows Server operating systems; Microsoft Office 365.
- Active Directory.
- A passion for IT technology.
- Good communication skills.
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- A high level of organisational skills are required and the ability to prioritise work.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently at times but also an effective team player who can relate to the needs of all.
- Must demonstrate a strong commitment to HSEQ.
