Job description
We are looking for experienced and self-motivated technicians to join our team. Working from one of our two offices, the role primarily consists of supporting and maintaining Primary Schools in and around the Bromley, Medway and East Kent areas.
As part of the IT team the post holder will install, set up and support IT equipment in Schools, assist staff in its use, as well as administer the main servers.
The job will involve developing and supporting desktop PC's, Servers, and the local and wide area infrastructure, tablets, laptops and iPad's. You will respond to user requests for support via a bespoke fault logging system, and undertake change requests as directed by the IT coordinator in the school. The job involves dealing with people at all levels, and requires technical knowledge of Microsoft based, end user and server equipment and software, plus a range of other peripheral IT equipment.
The successful candidate should possess technical skills and knowledge in the following areas:
- Microsoft Server software
- Microsoft Windows and Office products
- Group Policy and Active Directory
- Remote Backup procedures
- General Network Infrastructure
- Diagnostic procedures
- Installations of Mainstream software and MSI Deployment.
In addition, knowledge of Apple products would be an advantage.
Working Hours are 8:30am - 4:30pm weekdays.
The position we are advertising is open to part-time candidates, however must include the 38 weeks which make up the standard school year. We are open to applications for people who are looking for work just in term time. Your salary will be paid over 12 months, averaging your 38 weeks of salary so there are no gaps during school holidays.
Candidates must have or be able to fulfil the requirements for an Enhanced DBS check and possess a full driving licence.
