As a computer technician, you will be responsible for providing support (level 1 and 2) to users for computer hardware, communications and software used in the company (Windows, Office Suite, Office 365 and others).
Here's an overview of your tasks:
- Respond to user requests for IT support for multiple infrastructures and software
- Configure, support and manage the inventory of computer and network equipment (computers, printers, barcode scanners, telephones/telephone system) and software for users
- Manage network user accounts and email boxes, while ensuring the security of confidential data
- Perform the necessary analysis to justify the purchase or replacement of computer equipment and prepare bids from our various suppliers
- Research hardware and software solutions to meet user needs
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- DEC or AEC in computer science with a network option
- Two (2) years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of LAN, WAN, WiFi and/or VPN networks
- Knowledge of Exchange/Outlook or Office 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, Sharepoint, OneDrive etc.)
- Knowledge of VMWARE (asset)
- Available to be on call evenings and weekends on rotation (at 5-6 weeks)
- Ability to work as a team with IT colleagues and serve users in a respectful manner
