What you’ll be doing
- Ensuring the integrity of data storage and backup systems
- Monitoring security tools and identifying potential security risks.
- Managing the configuration of operating systems
- Anticipating potential problems and resolving them before they impact users whenever possible.
- Creating detailed reports about company networks, software, and hardware.
- Tracking user behavior to improve future versions of company software.
- Provide employee support & technical issue resolution. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Building rapport and elicit problem details from employees.
- Document help-desk problem solving process, including successful and unsuccessful decisions, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
- Procure and provision end user hardware.
- Accessing software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions on the internet to aid in problem resolution.
- Identifying and learning appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.
- Performing hands-on fixes at mobile, desktop, and server level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
- Maintaining Microsoft 365, Microsoft Active Directory, Azure active directory, Azure virtual machines.
- Maintaining software renewals and security certificates.
- Evaluating and documenting resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems.
- Other duties as assigned by the IT Manager

Must have experience with the following:
- Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services (Windows Server, Microsoft Azure)
- Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft OneDrive
- Windows 10/11
- Microsoft 365
- Systems hardware
Experience with the following would be considered an asset:
- Authentication and access management solution
- Remote Desktop Services
- ERP software (Sage 300 CRE, TimberScan, Sales Simplicity)
- Scripting/programming (SQL, Python, .NET, PowerShell, Power BI)
- VPN (Fortinet)
- Mobile solutions (iOS, Android)
- Windows Server
- Network skills relating to TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and Active Directory
Qualifications and Education
- Post secondary education such as a technical diploma in information systems or similar education would be preferred.
- 1-3 years of related experience.
This position requires a valid Driver’s license as this role requires various developments/construction sites approximately 10% of the time.
