We have an exciting opportunity for a IT Technician to provide 1st and 2nd line support both remote and on-site, with a specific focus on supporting and maintaining MS Windows 10/11 and other desktop operating systems including O365. Responsible for setting up new users and equipment. Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues and helping to transform the current hybrid setup into cloud-based solutions.
Role Responsibilities
1. Effectively lead the IT service desk function, setting up IT equipment, new users and providing effective solutions to service desk requests and ensuring continuity of operations.
2. Ensure the continuity of efficient and effective solutions including O365, security, backup, and firewall services, ensuring downtime is minimised where possible.
3. Work with partnerships and suppliers to ensure services are maintained within SLAs.
4. To manage key systems and data ensuring their recovery in the case of any major outages or failures whilst also managing the security and integrity of data of company-owned devices and equipment.
5. Ensuring proposed requests for change are safe and fit for purpose, including a comprehensive analysis of risk, business impact & continuity, backout plans, test plans, resource requirements and availability.
6. Support the implementation and ongoing management of cloud-based telephony and relevant databases.
7. Manage and continually improve our Microsoft Windows server environment, network infrastructure and Azure AD.
8. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
9. Follow IT & Change Management policies, processes, and standards, ensuring the organisation complies with the procedures.
10. Deliver staff development and learning on existing and new systems, upskilling staff.
11. Produce reports, schedules and technical documents using a range of software packages to assist with the management of the Company’s IT infrastructure. Job Role: IT Technician
12. Provide IT knowledge and liaise with key project stakeholders to ensure project plans are not put at risk.
13. Work closely with the Governance Officer and DPO to ensure compliance with GDPR across all systems and applications.
