The Opportunity
As the IT Technician 1, you will be responsible for preparing equipment for deployment to ITS customers and
assisting with deployments to Municipal Offices of Muskoka and related Branch Offices, with minimal
supervision.
What you will do: What you will need:
• Work with users and staff regarding all aspects of
computer systems, peripherals, operating systems,
networks, and projects.
- Provide on-going support to users and staff via
person, and provide support to the Service Desk
team as required.
- Perform all, or some, of the following functions:
systems, peripherals, software, mobile devices, and
tablets; coordinate hardware warranty repairs with
suppliers; build and test computer operating system
and application images; maintain accurate inventory
of all computer systems and mobile devices.
- Participate in the maintenance of software, such as
software, Mobile Device Management software and
Service Desk Ticketing software.
- Graduate of a two-year community college
acceptable combination of education,
training, and experience.
- Three years recent experience in the field of
- Excellent knowledge of computer standards
practices, computer imaging, configuration,
and troubleshooting in Microsoft Windows,
Android, and iOS operating systems.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s license

This is a Permanent Full-time opportunity at the District. The hourly compensation range for this role is

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for preparing equipment for deployment to ITS customers and assisting with
deployments to Municipal Offices of Muskoka and related Branch Offices, with minimal
supervision.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):
- Work with users and staff regarding all aspects of computer systems, peripherals, operating systems,
- Provide on-going support to users and staff via remote support software, telephone, email, or in-
- Perform all, or some, of the following functions: Configure, install, test, and deploy computer
with suppliers; build and test computer operating system and application images; maintain accurate
inventory of all computer systems and mobile devices.
- Participate in the maintenance of software, such as Hardware imaging software, Asset Management
- Assist vendors and providers with bug fixes and problem resolution.
- Maintain security focus of corporate information and equipment.
- Configure IP telephony systems, video- and tele-conferencing and audio-visual equipment.
- Work safely and in compliance with relevant statutes and regulations and within the safe work
- Overtime and travel will be required. Will be required to participate in the on-call rotation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of a two-year community college with a diploma in a related field or an acceptable
- Three years recent experience in the field of Information Technology.
- Excellent knowledge of computer standards related to installation and maintenance practices,
computer imaging, configuration, and troubleshooting in Microsoft Windows, Android, and iOS
operating systems.
- Experience analyzing, diagnosing, resolving user incidents, and providing end-user training.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience with Ivanti End Point Manager software; Ivanti Asset Manager software; Microsoft 365,
Azure, Intune, Windows Autopilot; VMware vSphere and VMWare View virtualization products; and
remote management software considered an asset.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s license
