Job description
Trust IT Support Technicians will provide a high quality technical support service for staff and students at academies within our trust, working proactively and reactively to maintain reliable technical services working hands on to provide appropriate solutions and support.
All technical staff will contribute to the delivery of an outstanding and robust IT Service across the Trust.
A Trust IT Support Technician will be based at one school, however from time to time they may be asked to work at other establishments to provide cover or support for other colleagues.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide quality 1st line telephone, e-mail, and face-to-face support to the Staff and Student of the Trust
- Assist and provide initial configuration and troubleshooting, installation and support services
- Use service desk software to manage workflow and provide timely appropriate feedback to clients and other members of the team
- Review, develop and implement new technologies
- Monitor and test existing backup and recovery & security systems
- Develop effective working relationships within the Academies ensuring good communication at all times
- Deliver training where deemed appropriate to other staff and end users
- Induct new starters to Astrea Academy Trust operating procedures and acceptable usage
- Ensure compliance with data protection and related current legislation alongside good practise is adhered to by users
- Monitor and maintain security and protection systems, such as Anti-Virus and Firewalls
- Ensure Software and Operating Systems are kept up to date
- Troubleshoot and escalate issues with systems, such as Bromcom and Office 365
- Assist with changes to school websites and adding content when requested
- Proactively maintain hardware, such as Projectors, Interactive Screens, computers, tablets and displays
- Liaise with external suppliers for the repair of equipment under contract or warranty
- Support and manage the telephone systems (Teams Phone/VOIP) at different sites
- Assist the Senior and Escalation Technicians with the delivery of secure and stable IT systems
- Enable the effective delivery of Teaching and Learning for all students at all educational settings or remote working
- Support with the training and development of any junior members of staff, such as Apprentices
- Ensure accurate records are kept of all IT hardware, software and peripherals
This role is a Trust based role with the majority of time being spent in Cottenham Village College

Salary: £24,325.00-£27,125.00 per year
