This position will suit an intelligent, super-organised, IT literate individual with excellent communication skills who is looking for a career in IT.
Reporting to the IT Manager, you will join IT Systems team who is happy to support the business via desktop support, can work effectively within a team and communicate at a high level to ensure SLAs are met and customer queries have been resolved in a timely manner.
Within this role you will gain the experience and necessary technical skills to undertake a technical support function and ensure it is available to all customers both internal and external via support desk cover. To perform basic maintenance activities to ensure that consistent and robust delivery is sustained.
Full training would be provided for this role.
Once fully trained the IT System Engineer role responsibilities include
- Responsible for all desktop support
- Providing internal support for office hardware including servers, PCs and mobile devices
- Continuously improving and keeping up with the IT business needs of the organisation
- Testing and configuring new hardware and software technologies
- Management of Active Directory, Exchange Servers and the deployment of Group Policies
- Management of video conferencing and telecommunications technologies
- Actively resolving problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company
- Configure company desktops, laptops and mobile phones
- Networking support of LAN, wireless and RF systems
- Licence management – ensuring company is fully compliant with licensing
- To support warehouse automation systems including single point of control system.
- Support for building management systems including fire alarm and CCTV
- Maintain accurately the company Asset Registry
- To support and monitor all company server software solutions including Exchange, SAP, Telnet
- Virtualization in a VMWare environment
- Replication services such as DFS, Log shipping, VEEAM, Double Take
