Full Job Description
Summary:
Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates clinical information system support needs for patient care operations according to policies, procedures, protocols, and standards. Responsible for advanced clinical system assessment, workflow charting, process analysis, and identifying and implementing clinical information system solutions. Mentors, sets standards of work, and supports clinical informatics team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Education Required: a. bachelor’s degree in clinical / business field (nursing, pharmacy, medical, etc) or closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. b. Clinical / Business-related courses preferred.
Experience and Training Required: a. Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in clinical/business system management and acute healthcare services which includes two (2) years a Clinical Analyst or Informaticist role. b. Oncology or Research experience in leadership role highly preferred, reflected by leading efforts in process improvement, project, and educational efforts, or was a representative at various councils and workgroups etc. c. Certifications in clinical informatics, project management, or usability studies preferred. d. Will be required to certify in one or more (Epic) applications and maintain certification. e. Have at least one certification for either Epic Beacon or Research – will be expected to obtain missing certification. f. Epic EpicCare Ambulatory certification preferred.

Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and staff using verbal and written communications c. Ability to effectively interact with users on various software and non-technical problems d. Ability to compose materials for end-users using written communication e. Ability to understand the application functionality and how it relates to departments while making recommendations for integration into operational flow f. Knowledge and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, e-mail, and scheduling applications g. Ability to work well within team environment by: accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback; supporting team goals and encouraging other team members; and collaborating with departmental team members to consolidate work, solve problems, create new methods, and/or reduce costs h. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient, employee, and financial records
Level of Physical Demands: a. Sit for prolonged periods of time. b. Lift up to 50 pounds. c. Manual dexterity to operate computer, phone, and standard office machines.
