The Position:
We are looking for a full-time System Administrator to help us in our mission, and to join our excellent organization. The lucky candidate will be working alongside wonderful work colleagues in a fast-paced, fun, and eco-forward retail environment.
In this key role, you will be assisting the IT Manager with day to day and long-term operations. Your primary focus is the evolution of technologies and ensure the proper management of infrastructure, servers, networking, application support to optimize our IT systems. You will also be a key player in strategic projects by identifying, recommending, implementing, and managing technology solutions, to enable the organization to achieve its business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with supporting application products and services.
- Perform hardware and software installations, configurations, upgrades, and updates, as needed.
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers, Mobile devices etc.)
- Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
- Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance.
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
- Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedure.
- Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work.
- Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards.
- Provide technical support to end-users in English across multiple time zones, in multiple countries, including the UK, Sweden, Finland, India, USA, and Canada
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
- Support diverse teams on-site occasionally after hours and on weekends, upon request.
Travel:
Travel is part of the nature of this position. The candidate must be willing to travel within the UK and possibly outside the UK. The candidate must have a UK passport or an EU passport.
- Paid weekly travel between multiple retail locations across London and rest of UK
- Paid possible travel to retail locations in Sweden and Finland
Physical Work:
This position requires the following physical actions:
- Lifting and moving IT equipment, including computers, monitors, printers, etc...
- Bending and reaching under desks.
- Pushing desks and cabinets.
- Occasional ladder work to trace wires and to install and hang equipment.
Software and Systems *Experience Required*:
Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Servers 2008 - 2022, Active Directory, DNS, Office 365 Excel, Word, Microsoft Azure, Google workspace apps, Console, Firewall, VPN, RDP, VOIP Telephony, Hardware, Mobile Devices (Android & IOS), POS Systems,Audio\Video Systems,DVR\CCTV
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies
- Proven experience as System Administrator and IT Technician or relevant experience (5 years preferred)
- Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
- Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
- In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
- Experience providing support in a retail environment, an asset
- Excellent communication ability
- Comfortable in front of people, relaxed disposition
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- Team player

Salary: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
