Salary up to £28000 plus extensive benefits
We’re looking for an ICT Support / Desktop Support Technician to ensure excellent and timely delivery of ICT Support within our team. You’ll have at least one year of proven Desktop / 1st line support experience within a fast-moving business of circa 100-150 users, both locally and remotely, and be flexible, willing to learn, listen, and develop your support skills. You will:
- Provide effective and good quality 1st line ICT Support, both desk-side and remote to internal end users
- Manage, prioritise & take ownership of support requests via the company Helpdesk system, to resolution
- Liaise with third party providers for support on certain systems when required
- Escalate more complex problems as appropriate, collaborating effectively and keeping end users updated
- Administer the ICT new starters / leavers process
- Maintain the ICT asset register and inventory
- Configure & build end user devices for at-scale deployment, and carry out day to day maintenance
- Contribute to the ICT knowledge base, creating new articles and maintaining existing ones
- Provide support for audio-visual equipment in meeting rooms and for apps such as Zoom and Teams
- Work with the ICT team to deliver new projects
- Maintain best practices and policies to ensure effective use of all ICT systems and security standards
As well as your experience supporting teams of approximately 100 users, you’ll also have:
- Windows Server Operating Systems & Windows Desktop Operating Systems
- Active Directory, Office 365 / Exchange online Admin Centre and Basic Networking (IP, DHCP, VLANs)
- Support experience for AV, meeting room and video conference tech
- An ability to integrate well in a helpdesk environment with superb customer service skills
- Well-organised approach, able to manage a demanding workload
- A genuine interest in the IT industry
- Willingness to occasionally be flexible with hours worked, & occasionally work weekends. Please note that this is only occasionally.
- A strong academic background
- Written and spoken fluency in English
Ideally you’ll have:
- An industry certification, MS Certified, ITL, CompTIA etc.
- Experience of supporting Engineering/CAD applications
- VMWare and/or Citrix
- Rolled out hardware, software deployment and patching experience
- Participated in Project work
