Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in the maritime industry? We're seeking a skilled and motivated IT Support Engineer to join our team and ensure the seamless operations of our high performing IT Department.
As our new IT Support Engineer, you will play a vital role in overseeing daily IT support and implementation activities, optimizing organisational performance ashore and at sea, and coordinating with stakeholders internationally to ensure the highest level of performance.
The Company
Songa Ship Management Ltd. (SSM) is a global ship management company operating as part of the Norweigan Blystad Group. Founded as the Technical Management branch of Blystad Shipping (USA) Inc. in Houston, Texas, in 1995 to manage vessels owned by Mr Arne Blystad, moved to Westport, CT, in 2000. In 2000 Blystad Shipmanagement Ltd. rebranded to Songa Ship Management Ltd. in 2006 after the company moved to its new home in Paisley, Scotland, and currently employs 57 onshore staff. Songa Crew Management Ltd. was founded in 2016 and employs around 1250 offshore staff, occupying vessels trading worldwide.

You will be working closely with highly experienced colleagues in related areas of expertise, who are keen to make sure you will succeed and feel valued - there will be very little in the way of red tape in this fast-paced company, where no two days are the same!
Role & Responsibilities
Responsible to the Head of IT for:
- Providing remote support to all vessels for mission critical systems.
- Providing onsite support for office-based staff – Microsoft 365 \ Windows 10
- Log calls with third party VSAT and application suppliers.
- Update tickets logged through internal helpdesk system.
- Carrying out daily checks from remote monitoring and troubleshoot reported issues.
- Assist with management \ patching of computers using RMM and management tools.
- Assist IT manager with vessel network builds and office infrastructure upgrades.
- Configure new desktops and laptops for deployment.
- Assist with Cyber Security projects.
- Maintain Technical documentation.
- Some international travel
The candidate must have:
- 1-2 years’ experience in a similar job role.
- Experience of supporting Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams) and Windows 10.
- Experienced in providing remote support using various remote access tools.
- Server operating system admin (Active Directory) desirable but not essential.
