GAC UK is looking for an IT Support Engineer to join our Team based in Manchester. Could it be you?
GAC UK employs over 300 experts across more than 25 offices covering all of the UK, Ireland and Gibraltar. We deliver a wide range of integrated shipping, logistics and marine services to the energy and shipping industries. We also serve specialised sectors like marine leisure, sports and events, automotive and aviation, providing complex and time-critical logistics solutions. We apply the highest standard of customer services to everything we do and aim to be industry leaders within all the sectors we serve.
This position is based in our Manchester office but may involve some international travel to our European offices, including Sweden, Netherlands and Belgium.
The key responsibilities are:
- Ensure smooth and secure IT Operations at GAC branch offices
- Provide fast and efficient IT support to GAC users
- Follow and implement GAC Group IT policy
- Promote IT best practices and improvements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Cybersecurity focus
- 2+ years’ experience working in IT support/infrastructure role
- GDPR aware
- Relevant certifications in Microsoft Technologies preferred
- In-depth understanding of Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
- Knowledge in Microsoft Azure preferred
- Experience of Microsoft Intune
- Experience of Microsoft Power Automation (RPA) and Power BI desirable
- Support of business-critical applications
- Confident problem solving and communication skills
- Excellent command of the English language
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong ability to self-lead and prioritise work
- Proven track record as a team player
- Ability to be influential when communicating both inside and outside the organisation with peers, vendors and clients
- Knowledge in Microsoft Azure preferred
- Commitment to continuous learning and self-development
