As an IT Support Engineer, you will be based out of our Wimbledon production studio, but also spend time at our West London virtual production and motion capture stage and on our mobile volumetric capture stage. The IT Support Engineer role:
We’re looking for a hands-on IT Support Engineer who enjoys configuring and building hardware, installing and maintaining software and configuring networking equipment such as switches, routers and firewalls. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a range of high-end software and hardware equipment as well as be exposed to a growing portfolio of technologies.
The right candidate must be technical, accountable, organised and able to work well within a team. You must also be someone who is results driven and not concerned about working out of hours on occasion due to your responsibilities. On-set production support will be required involving: driving to different locations, and/or overnight stays. It is expected to be 60% of your work time. Remaining time will be spent working from our office and occasionally from home. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join a rapidly growing and pioneering studio. Responsibilities for the IT Support Engineer:
- Building and configuring equipment that’s used inside our production environment. Typically including Windows 10 workstations, Windows Server, Dedicated NAS/DAS equipment, network switches as well as Firewalls and WiFi appliances.
- Supporting our production teams both in our London studio and on site as and when required.
- Support will include troubleshooting any issues that may arise with the production IT infrastructure or any other IT systems such as the provision of on-site internet and/or liaising with third party IT providers.
- Supporting our internal staff and team of VFX Tech Artists with day to day IT operational requirements.
- Supporting our IT infrastructure and helping us to deliver new IT projects as we work to streamline our IT operations and work towards industry accreditations such as TPN and ISO27001.
- Managing user accounts and access rights within Active Directory, Google G-Suite and any other system in use by the company.
Essential requirements for the IT Support Engineer:
2+ years of experience as an IT Support Engineer.
Windows Active Directory.
Windows 10/11 and Server 2016+ support experience.
Good understanding of PC Hardware, be able to build, troubleshoot and fix equipment
Have had experience configuring network switches (Dell/FiberStore preferable) including fibre fabric.
Have experience configuring Firewalls, Routers, WiFi (Fortigate preferable).
Working knowledge of core networking technologies such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, RADIUS, IPsec VPN.
Be familiar with using NAS/DAS/SAN equipment, and the principles of use.
Management of user access to NTFS/UNC shares
Very good troubleshooting skills
Desirable experience for the IT Support Engineer:
Apple iOS knowledge.
Working knowledge of professional Audio/Visual (AV) signal routing and hardware.
Working knowledge of Azure/AWS environments and support.
Google GSuite administration experience.
Linux OS support experience.
