Arksen is an innovative tech-driven organisation that has experienced a period of rapid growth recently. As our team has grown, we're on the hunt for a dedicated IT Support Engineer who possesses both a passion for technology and a profound desire for continuous learning.
The IT Support Engineer will be vital to our daily operations, primarily assisting users with their software needs on MacOS platforms. This role is an exceptional opportunity to not only polish your troubleshooting skills but also to learn and transition into systems administration roles, under the guidance of an experienced Linux sysadmin/DevOps engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct IT support to staff, resolving issues to ensure seamless operations.
Back up, diagnose, and repurpose MacOS laptops.
Administer Google Workspace and provide support with workspace features.
Offer support for Microsoft Office and perform basic MS 365 administration tasks.
Support various cloud-based SaaS products including Dropbox, Google Drive, and Adobe CC.
Play a pivotal role in developing and deploying an RMM solution for all business users, PC rebuilds, backups, and user onboarding.
Desired Qualities:
Previous experience in an IT support role, predominantly with MacOS.
Stellar communication skills, with an emphasis on direct end-user support.
Proactive attitude with the ability to take initiatives.
Genuine interest in continuous learning. If you can demonstrate things that you have been learning in your own time in order to progress your career like a homelab, or just general tinkering with things like rasperry pi’s / linux / custom pc / mac builds all the better.
Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Qualifications:
Any relevant technical qualifications / technical BSC’s a big plus.
Relevant certifications in IT support or related fields are beneficial.
Compensation & Work Hours:
Work hours: 9 AM – 6 PM.
Salary range: £25,000, rising up to £30,000 for the right candidate.
Reporting Structure:
For technical duties: Reports directly to the Linux sysadmin/DevOps engineer.
General organisation and office-related duties: Reports to the on-site office manager
