Boeing is seeking an IT Intern who will act as first level IT support for the Canada and Latin America Region. This position is located in Richmond, British Colombia and is an 8-month term position starting in early September, 2023.
You will get exposure to many different technologies and work with the Boeing Vancouver IT team on your learning objectives. Previous interns have focused on project management, network and information security. What will be your interest? As an Intern in the Boeing Vancouver IT team you will not only get to meet everyone in the company (as you support their requests) but you will also work with a highly trained and experienced IT team.
Position Responsibilities:
Learning objectives: Can be a technology, project and/or skillset.
Provide first level technical support to Boeing employees around the world
Perform repairs for PC hardware
Responsible for Workstation setup and Audio/Video setup
Assist with project work
Support inventory and backups
Any additional technical support duties as assigned by the management team
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite in Richmond, BC.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.
Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
Must be a currently enrolled student attending a post-secondary education.
Excellent customer service, communication skills; professional, courteous, and highly service-oriented
Ability to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic and tactful manner.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Previous work experience in IT is considered an asset
CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Desktop Support Technician certification is beneficial.
Desktop support with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office experience.
Experience with Mac OS is beneficial
Reliable, responsible, conscientious, and self-motivated; ability to follow detailed tasks to completion with minimal supervision
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED.
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
