JOB DESCRIPTON: TECHNICAL ASSISTANT/IT SUPPORT
Reporting to: Office Manager Location: Fakenham

With the growth of the business, we have an excellent opportunity to join our team in a new role within the company; Technical Assistant/IT Support. The role has the flexibility to start as part-time, starting at 25 hours a week, with a view to develop into full-time, or full-time from the offset for the right candidate with passion and motivation to spot business needs and help us drive improvements.
The Technical Assistant/IT Support will be responsible for managing and overseeing our company IT requirements as the main IT representative to the business and our external IT support providers, whilst driving improvements across the business from software to hardware specification. The successful candidate will be skilled and highly capable with IT, technology savvy, proactive and self-motivated with great communication skills and ability to prioritise multiple tasks and lead IT improvements within the business. The vacancy would suit an individual who is in the early stages of a career within IT career with a variety of experience, looking to develop further skills and passionate about utilising modern technology, driving change and leading projects.
Key Responsibilities will include:
IT Representative
- Main representative/contact on behalf of Bill Cleyndert & Company to our IT Partners; IT support provider, phone system provider, software providers
- Oversee all internal IT projects on behalf of the team and business
- Work with Senior Management to identify the business IT needs and develop improvements
- Be the onsite IT representative for the team
- Organise and arrange quotes for new IT hardware within the business
- Attend and lead quarterly reviews with our external IT support
- Develop an understanding of our Drawing Office CAD 3D modelling software to assist where required and liaise with the provider/external support on behalf of the business
General Responsibilities
- Organise equipment for new starters to the job role specification and hardware requirements with clear direction to our external IT support for set up
- Oversee internal IT set ups
- Negotiate quotations for new equipment and IT requirements
- Organise and oversee our internal phone system updates and upgrades
- Agreeing and signing off completion of IT projects
- Introduce and maintain an internal IT hardware inventory
- Reviewing the wider business IT needs to spot and drive improvements
- Occasional support to our Marketing Department (website etc.)
Annual Responsibilities
- Oversee negotiations for annual software renewals and upgrades and role out to the team
- Maintain business software license logs, including SolidWorks, SWOOD and DraftSight
- Review and maintain the business IT security infrastructure
Projects
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to get stuck into the below projects from the offset:
- Review our server system and capacity with our external IT support to formalise a five+ year plan for growth
- Develop and merge an internal IT user hardware inventory with our IT support companies inventory
- Review what hardware requires upgrading within departments with implementation
- Review and oversee our internal phone system to merge both offices onto the same infrastructure
- Review of our internal IT and desk set up with the opportunity to suggest improvements for users productivity
Required Skills & Experience
Experience in IT and Microsoft programs, tech savvy, capable of prioritising projects and good communication skills. You will need to be proactive and driven and work well within a team. You will have a good understanding of internal IT systems and the latest technology, with great problem-solving skills and strong commercial awareness. You will hold a full UK driving license. Do you also have experience with graphic design or Photoshop? This could be an advantage to assist our Marketing Team.

Location
The position is primarily based at our North Norfolk workshop, located on the former RAF Sculthorpe Airbase (once the Chapel to Air Force servicemen) on the outskirts of Fakenham (NR21 7RN) with occasional visits to our Norwich workshop.
