Purpose of Role:
As part of the Naval Information Technology Infrastructure and Communication Group you will support and contribute to ongoing and future on premise IT projects and initiatives involving a large ecosystem of technologies, by interacting closely with the integrators and subject matter experts that are involved in both project delivery and operations.
This is a senior role and is very technical and involves producing written artefacts. The individual must be able to interpret requirements into technical solutions that meet the needs of the RCN. The individual will be expected to interact with technical project team members, challenge technical decisions, make decisions on technical data, and address technical work packages that require hands on work with technology, equipment and software

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interact with clients, the end user and RCN IT groups to understand, extract and develop requirements, pain points, issues and concerns;
  • Produce technical, and reference diagrams/documentation in accordance with the group’s style using established templates;
  • Support project coordinators by helping to identify technical and other risks and changes
  • Execute technical Work Packages
  • Participate in internal and external review, acting as a facilitator and technical translator for non-technical audiences;
  • Prepare and present technical presentation material to internal and external audiences with varying technical knowledge; and
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
  • Industry certifications such as VCA, VCP, MCSA and/or MCSE are an asset
  • Ability to work to tight timelines, take on additional responsibilities, and accept and introduce change in a positive manner; demonstrate experience working well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise;
  • Extremely diligent and an excellent communicator and facilitator, and have strong leadership skills;
  • Excellent writing skills in English;
  • Demonstrated technical work experience in the field of IT in technologies (Microsoft Windows Server 2012R2 through 2022 operating systems, Active Directory Domain Services, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 through 2019, Microsoft DNS, KMS, DHCP, print services, WDS, DFS and IIS, Windows 10 desktop operating system, with knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite including the Outlook client);
