Reporting to the Nuclear Site IT Services Team Leader, as the Site IT Services Specialist for Torness you will have the opportunity to provide excellent 1st and 2nd line support to colleagues on Site. You will also help manage and deliver IT services via service requests and get stuck in with IT projects both on site and from centre.

Pay, benefits and culture
We’re offering a salary of £40,069 - £60,826 that apply with our terms and conditions covered by the EDF Company Agreement. The starting salary for the appointment will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experiences and qualification.

What you'll be doing
As the Site IT Specialist, you will carry out the following:
Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support in a highly regulated environment- Working effectively and productively with 3rd line support and IT partners
- Resolving local IT issues and deliver additional IT-related services professionally and efficiently while maintaining a high degree of customer service
- Maintaining the local end user computing hardware environment on station (PC, laptop, printer, scanner etc.)
- Maintaining of station-based IT infrastructure in conjunction with centrally-based resolving teams and hardware maintainers (Cisco network environment & HP Wintel and NetApp server and storage)
- Monitoring, and challenging where necessary, the quality and consistency of IT services delivered to Generation (Nuclear Operations).
- Delivering system health through a systematic approach to house-keeping, systems administration and support
- Approving ‘change’ to IT systems, supporting Generation (Nuclear Operations) for the station
- Working in support of significant station activities, such as outage preparations
- Participating in delivering the IT requirement for station projects, and providing site-based assistance for centrally managed projects
- Adhering to the Asset Management process for desktop hardware on their station
Who you are
Along with a minimum relevant HNC in Computing, Engineering or Science (or equivalent), to be successful in your application to our IT Site Specialist vacancy you will have the following:
A broad technical skillset but know how to do the basics well- Experience in IT service delivery and operational support in SME or large environments
- ITIL v3/v4 Foundation certified or sufficient evidence of working and supporting IT services within the ITIL service management framework or equivalent
- Competent and experienced in support of MS Windows 10 and/or Windows 11 PCs/Laptops/tablets and MS Office products (especially M365) in a MS Windows Server environment.
- A good understanding of LAN infrastructure and topologies (ideally Cisco experienced and/or qualified)
- Installation troubleshooting and support of peripheral devices
- A working understanding of IT and information security principles
- Confidence in problem solving & root cause analysis
- Excellent customer facing skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be dynamic, have high standards and integrity and be a good communicator.
