IT Security Analyst Poole, England

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust
Full Time Poole, England 25655 - 31534 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

The NHS records, stores and uses vast amounts of sensitive data every single day. While the protection of this data has always been an utmost priority, offensive cyber activity has opened up numerous new attack fronts that the NHS must now protect against.

This new role is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated person with an interest in cyber security to join our small cyber team, supporting the IT security officer in investigating and responding to IT security incidents. Your focus will be to monitor our security systems, assessing, investigating and presenting findings both within the team and outside of it. You will be responsible for co-ordinating the technical resolution of security alerts, sometimes involving multiple colleagues across separate teams.

You will be interested in technology and will ideally have prior experience of helping to provide a customer-focused IT service within a large organisation.

This is a full time, permanent position with a working week of 37.5 hours and is based at Foxbrake House, Dorchester or 11 Shelley Road, Bournemouth although flexible working arrangements are available.

Employment in this post requires an Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

The post holder will be part of the IT security function within the IT infrastructure team, monitoring, reviewing, analysing and interpreting incidents and alerts generated by the Trust’s IT security systems and a number of other inputs. The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating the technical resolution of alerts, sometimes involving multiple colleagues across separate teams.
