IT Project Manager x 2 (Inside IR35)

Contract Term: 12 Month Contract

Contracting Authority: Greater Manchester Police (GMP)

Location: Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite per week in Manchester

We are seeking candidates at the top of their game to join Greater Manchester Police (GMP) to deliver high-profile IT projects. This exciting project will see you lead the transform of GMP’s IT systems. We are offering 12-month contracts after which there may be an opportunity to extend. We look forward to you joining our team and below is a brief overview of the skill set that we are looking for.

Experienced IT Project Manager professional who is familiar with leading large and complex programmes of work in an IT environment.

As a IT Project Manager your main responsibilities would be:

· Work with Key Stakeholders to propose and agree the project goals and objectives that will deliver value for money for GMP and the citizens of Greater Manchester.

· Build effective working partnerships with partners, both internal and external.

· Clearly communicate project status to all stakeholders, including managing expectations of the SRO and other senior chief officers

· Maintain and update relevant documentation.

· Maintain project time frames, budget estimates and status reports.

· Understands underlying architecture of owned development and can communicate it to non-technical parties and serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical departments in order to ensure that all targets and requirements are met.

· Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.

· Work closely with business owners to understand business objectives and requirements.

You’ll have relevant experience in:

· Experience of use of appropriate project methodologies to deliver maximum success across all projects in the programme; Prince2 / APM / waterfall, agile

· Experience of leading the successful implementation of all project frameworks to drive consistency and effective programme delivery eg Status Reporting, Project Plans, RAID, PDD, Project Brief

· Experience of senior stakeholder management

· Experience of managing a range of technical resources via matrix management and ensuring all demand is appropriately managed

· Experience of managing to project governance eg Steering Groups and representing IT in various Boards

· Experience of acting as a key IT representative with the wider organisation

· Experience of effective issue and risk management

· Experience of leading the identification and management of all programme and project dependencies

· Experience of significant budget management

· Experience of working with a range of third parties

· Experience of leading a range of technical transformations including Digital

· Experience of acting as a key IT representative for the IT Strategy and leading by example as an advocate of new ways of working

· Experience of working within a Change Management environment

· Strong customer and public focus

· Excellent communication and influencing skills

Salary: £450.00-£550.00 per day
