IT Projects Manager- GCMP


Location- Melmerby, Barker Business Park, Ripon, HG45NB.

Working pattern- Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Salary- dependent on experience!


Main purpose of the role-

The Project Manager will be responsible for a suite of applications supporting the B2B gift card businesses of several high-profile retailers in the UK and across Europe which manage £600M+ transactions per year. The role encompasses a product management role of ensuring that the applications continue to meet the retailers’ business needs and a project management role to manage all changes and developments on the applications and the onboarding of any new retailers. The role requires interaction with high level business contacts at retailers, internal users and development and test resource at the development house.


Main duties-

  • Define and document the business requirements,
  • Work with colleagues (internal and external) to design the solution,
  • Gain agreement from all stakeholders on the cost, scope, and timings of the solution,
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion,
  • Perform risk management to minimise project risks,
  • Write and maintain a project plan of sufficient depth and complexity for the size of the project,
  • Work with internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure that the solution is delivered on time, within scope and on budget,
  • Manage changes to scope and development overruns with stakeholders to gain agreement on the continued direction of the project,
  • Work with key users of the solution and external testing resource to develop test plans,
  • Manage external testing resource, perform own testing, and manage UAT to ensure that the solution meets the business requirements,
  • Train key staff to use the solution,
  • Ensure that the use of the solution is documented by the most appropriate person.

Other duties-

  • Provide cover in the event of staff shortages in other areas of the company.
  • Assist with the training of new and temporary employees.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as required by the employer.

Essential attributes for the successful candidate-

  • 4 GCSE's including Maths and English above a grade C/4 or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of IT Project Management
  • Experience of conducting and testing of complex IT systems.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Ability to keep calm in stressful situations.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Keen and willing to learn.
